Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing unveils all BMW line-up at Nürburgring season opener

Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing unveiled an all BMW line-up at the traditional 70th ADAC Westfalenfahrt, the first round of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS).

Seen as the starting flag to the ADAC RAVENOL 24-hour Nürburgring race, which will take place from June 19-22, the four-hour endurance challenge saw the ‘Girls Only – Ready to rock the Green Hell’ team take the wheel of the BMW M4 GT4 in the SP10 category for the second successive season.

Carrie Schreiner, Fabienne Wohlwend and Janina Schall, supported by an all-women crew and management, recorded a lap time of 8:44.036 minutes, the second-fastest lap of the entire race in class. However a power loss before the end of race forced the decision to retire on safety grounds.

The BMW 325i (SP4) enjoyed a hugely successful weekend, qualifying and finishing in first place in the SP4 category, while two BMW 330i cars entered the VT2-RWD and a BMW M240i in the M240i Racing Cup.

All cars continue to race on the GitiCompete GTR1 tyres, which form part of a comprehensive range of competition racing patterns which are used in events around the world.

The onsite Giti Tire marketing team ensured all the thrills of qualifying and race day were caught and shared with tens-of-thousands of followers on social media, while the Giti mascot kept the children in the crowd entertained.

The manufacturer also made maximum use of its position as global automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, the world’s leading manufacturer of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment, with the Giti – Powered by Sparco® logo appearing across the site and social media.

In total 114 cars were on the starting grid with ticket sales making it the second biggest season opener on record. The next race for Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series will take place on 26th April 2025.

Stefan Brohs, Marketing Director - Europe for Giti Tire, said: “The first fully competitive race of the season is the starting flag for everyone, the drivers and teams get to test their cars and abilities to the limit while we enjoy the thrill of kicking-off our first largescale in-person marketing event of the year.
“The weather for the race was changeable but the spirits of the spectators never flagged, and we want to be doing the best possible job to make their experience unforgettable while being on-hand to bring this amazing atmosphere into every home.

“And, as I’ve said before, every race gives us more information on our tyres. The European R&D Centre in Hannover, Germany will look at all the numbers to see what findings can be taken into the everyday tyre portfolios as we take all these learning from the racetrack to the streets.”
